— The story

GOAT by Sid Chopra is an Indian restaurant in the heart of Auckland CBD, built on a simple idea to showcase the unexplored side of Indian cuisine. Led by Chef-Owner Sid Chopra, the menu travels region by region across India, bringing forward dishes rarely seen outside their place of origin. It's not about the familiar, it's about depth, diversity, and bold, honest flavour. Born and raised in Delhi, Sid moved to New Zealand at 21 and went on to shape his craft across some of Auckland's most respected kitchens, including a long tenure as Executive Chef at Prego. GOAT is the result of a vision he carried for over a decade. Set within a heritage space on Wyndham Street, it brings warmth, character, and a sense of place. Awarded a Cuisine Good Food One Hat in its very first year and named among Auckland's Iconic Eats, GOAT continues to show a side of Indian cuisine most haven't experienced yet.

From India, with love.

We don’t try to do all of India, we focus on doing it right. Sid Chopra
